When you feel all alone

However we try to dissociate the role of luck in our life, one cannot deny it's prominence in finding Love and Friend. Not everyone gets a friend who always understands you, who's always there for you, in sad and happy moments. Isn't it ?

Crash and Burn - by Savage Garden
When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please to tame your wild wild heart
I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you
It's hard to find relief and people can be so cold
When darkness is upon your door and you feel like you can't take anymore

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

When you feel all alone
And a loyal friend is hard to find
You're caught in a one way street
With the monsters in your head
When hopes and dreams are far away and
You feel like you can't face the day

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

'Cause there has always been heartache and pain
And when it's over you'll breathe again
You'll breath again

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please
To tame your wild wild heart

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You're not alone

Whenever I listen to the song, I realize an empty space in my life. Everyone wants a friend whom you can call anytime, share your happy moments and nightmares, who takes interest in your interests, who's just a thought away. The stronghold of friendship is tested with distance. I realized how distance affected in my friendship, close friends loose touch. We meet new people wherever go, our lives change, and people move on.
But in all this, how beautiful will it be to have a friend who's the common factor in all our life's path. Over the time, whenever you would think back, you see one person always with you. Those who have such a friend, are very lucky, hold on the precious gift!

  1. I'm a self proclaimed loner and I think out of millions of people we meet there are hardly one or two that you can actually relate to and by relate I don't necessarily mean similarities.

Most of the time we are on the lookout for someone that will be there for us and we will be there for them. I think we need to stop looking, and let life unfold on its own, then you appreciate the surprises a lot more :-)

I have made some really nice friends over the years that manage to tolerate me. I will always be grateful for their presence in their life. Wish that everyone had awesome friends like them.

  2. Btw I don't really know, and you don't know me. We are strangers at this point, and if I misinterpreted the entry then I apologize, but if there is anything at all, then please don't hesitate to give out a shout :-)

  3. Don't listen to that song if that thing makes you feel lonely. Its simple, there are many things one has to leave and move ahead (or even severe them).

And to your point of others being lucky enough I would suggest "Try walking in my shoes" I would be difficult and I am quite sure of it. But there goes one ghazal "Duniya mein kitna gam hai, mera gam kitna kam hai". Don't look, watch, observe the world around you, and you will find it even lonelier.

Having said that, I must admit I am talking from a point of view of a guy and not of a girl, which can be and in most of the cases is different. At least I can understand that as I have seen many of mine elder sister and colleagues going through same, I won't elaborate on that. But yet, don't think others are lucky, I have seen people complaining about their life even when they have loads of friends with whom they talk incessantly.

Perfection and Happiness is always Pursued So don't be sad if your life ain't perfect or happy, it is the moments that counts. Life by the moments.

    And Keep Smiling

  5. Mia & Shweta,
Thanks for streching the hand of friendship :) I take it :)

    Tarun,
I love the song coz it doesnt make me sad but it shows me the beautiful bond.

    @to all my reader friends,
i am happy that my one post brought so many thoughts together.

As tarun wrote, "duniya me kitna gum hai, mera gum kitna kum hai".
and as Mia wrote, we should stop looking for a special friend.

True, but let me tell u all, I am not a kind of person who keeps crying or cribbing over one's problems or keep looking for a special friend.

Don't take me wrone, I offcourse have friends, college friends as well as office friends. I actually tried to write that there are few who are like what we say "langoti friends"...

So do you have any langoti friends ?

  6. Hi Megha

I got your point. I do not remember whether one of elder said this to me or I have read it somewhere, "At your funeral, you will have at the most one or two friends; if it is more than that.....you have been a magician"

Langoti friends are the real buddies with whom we do not have to be formal, can talk bindaas and never think twice before saying or telling them anything; even if world says you are wrong, he will stand beside you and together you will yell at the world........you all are wrong :)

But having someone like that is just so exceptional.......it is great feeling to talk and hang around with such buddy.........

It is amazing that so many people think alike (like I was searching a stuff similar to what you have written), still that feeling of langoti is not with everyone....

By the way, listen to "My friends" from Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of the Fleet Street....though the song is about attachment of Depp with his razors, but lyrics are just impeccable to describe the feelings....

Waiting for your feedback on the song.

The song "My friend" is really nice. And the last line "At last my right arm is complete again", that says it all...thanks for sharing.

About the funeral quote, so true..

Good feeling when someone agrees your "stand"point.....and yeah...where we stand depends on where we sit :)

Langoti friends you miss more when
    1) you have one
    2) you are too far with them (like I am right now) ;)

I always used to search if someone thinks this way and tonight I got your post...so yes, there is a common connecting thread weaved into all of us....thanks for this blog...

  10. Not friends but a friend.........and not sure if this number could increase as getting one after your college is next to impossible....as at 26, when I am working in a city like Mumbai, the number is not likely to increase.

But there could be "windfall" too. :)
